FOR TODAY--Monday, January 9th, 2012
Outside my window...
Yay! The sun is finally shining! We have had an unseasonably warm January here in the Midwest, and you will not hear me complain about that AT ALL (being the warm-weather-loving gal that I am) but it has been cloudy for days on end. It's good to finally see the sun!
I am thinking...
about the fact that sometimes I am so skeptical about my beliefs in God. Sometimes, when I'm reading my bible, I start to think about things 'logically' and tell myself that there is no way that things happened the way the bible portrays; and yet, I believe that God can do ANYTHING. Where is my childlike faith in moments like this?
I am thankful...
for a new day, week, and year. I love new beginnings and there is so much that I want to accomplish this year. I want to get fit again. I want to keep my house in order. I want to be the best wife and mother that I can be. I want to love God more. I want to be steadfast in all I set out to do--my one word for this year.
In the kitchen...
I smell coffee and eggs. Dan just made himself an egg sandwich, and it's making me hungry! Also, the kitchen is trashed. It will spend a couple of hours cleaning it up after I finish this post.
I am wearing...
A light blue cami and blue Old Navy sweatpants. A shower and proper clothing are on my agenda after I do some cleaning.
I am creating...
a crocheted prayer shawl for my sister-in-law and an afghan for my daughter.
I am going...
to the AT&T store with my daughter later today so she can buy her new smartphone.
I am wondering...
why it can't just stay warm all winter. I could handle days in the 50s and nights in the 20s if I knew that was the worst it was going to get!
I am reading...
my One Year Bible and What Women Fear, by Angie Smith. I also have several books on Kindle that I want to delve into.
I am hoping...
for a mild winter and an early spring!
I am looking forward to...
SUMMER!!!
I am learning...
that material things are becoming less and less important to me as I get older.
Around the house...
Christmas is still going strong here. The tree will come down sometime this week, or this weekend at the latest, so that I can get things back in order. I am really desiring order right now.
I am pondering...
the fact that life is hard, but no matter how hard life is, God is good ALL THE TIME!
A favorite quote for today...
Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
Louisa May Alcott
One of my favorite things...
My electric blanket. Even though it's been unseasonably warm this winter, I am still about as cold blooded as they come, so I appreciate being able to wrap up in the soft warmth of my blanket.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Clean, read, blog, catch up with online friends, clean some more...
A peek into my day...
Finish this blog entry, clean the kitchen, shower, go to the AT&T store, figure out what to cook for dinner, clean some more...
This has nothing to do with my day, but I wanted to share a picture of what I got to experience last week, as hubby and I were enjoying our eight day Southern Caribbean cruise. This is a picture of the beautiful beach on Grand Turk.
The water was gorgeous and the weather was perfect!

I am hearing...the radio--my local Christian station is on
Around the house...still have lots of projects going on and my backyard is always full of birds
One of my favorite things...my bird feeders--all 18 of them!
A few plans for the rest of the week...refrigerator delivery tomorrow and then just odds-n-ends of stuff.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...a woodpecker that regularly visits my feeder. I love the way woodpeckers move!

Outside my window...beautiful, bright, and sunny!

From the learning rooms...so much! But mainly, time is precious and I need to stop being so 'me' focused
From the kitchen...just had a bowl of shredded wheat
I am wearing...oversized Grumpy pajama top and snowflake jammie pants
I am creating...a beautiful yard now that spring has truly sprung!
I am going...to make the most of the time I have this week
I am reading...my Bible

Around the house...lots of projects going on. And flowers are blooming!
One of my favorite things...my new garden clock/thermometer that I got as an early Mother's Day gift
A few plans for the rest of the week...a trip to the Goodwill, some yard projects, lots of walks with the dogs
